My name is Nigel McFall, and I am the proud owner of Waimak Patrols & Security Services. I am married to my wonderful wife and together we have seven incredible children. Family is at the heart of everything I do, and their support drives my passion for excellence in the security industry.
With over 30 years of experience in various security roles, my career journey has been diverse and enriching. I began my professional life serving in the New Zealand Defense Force (Army), where I developed a strong foundation in discipline and leadership. Following my military service, I worked for the Department of Corrections in multiple capacities, including Corrections Officer, Senior Corrections Officer, and Acting Principal Corrections Officer. My experience also includes roles as a Bailiff for the Ministry of Justice, a Traffic Control Officer at Christchurch International Airport, and a Port Security Officer at Lyttelton Port. Additionally, I’ve held various positions within the private security sector.
A significant part of my journey involves living with ADHD. While it presents certain challenges, it also brings unique strengths to the way we conduct business. ADHD fuels my creativity, drive, and ability to think outside the box, which are crucial in the dynamic field of security. It enhances my problem-solving skills and enables me to approach situations with a fresh perspective. Embracing ADHD has been a cornerstone in fostering an innovative and adaptive business environment at Waimak Patrols & Security Services.
Throughout my career, I witnessed varying levels of staff welfare, often falling short of the standards I believe are essential for a motivated and effective workforce.
